This is my all time favorite scripture… and I was so excited that Pete used it in his sermon a couple of weeks ago.
Mary’s Song
46 And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
Luke 1: 46-49
I love that Mary praises God, despite every circumstance being difficult – an awesome display of faith.

You ALWAYS have your camera ready.

Or this…

Go here to see more pictures. Some of them are hilarious… some gross… some downright scary.
Enjoy!

Steve is our Christmas tree. Side note: We named our turkey at Thanksgiving, too – his name was Maxwell. I don’t know why we name our trees and turkeys, but we do. If that bothers you, stop reading now.
Anyway, this is a picture of Steve, pre-decoration. Some say he’s short… some say he’s round. WE say he’s perfect.
I’ll post a picture of Steve post-makeover. I just wanted to introduce you.

I took a break from reading about vampires (aka The Twilight Series) to read a book that Evan gave me.

This is an amazing book to read at this time of year. It puts everything in perspective. I think that if you liked The Shack, you’ll like this. The cool part – this was inspired by true events in Glenn Beck’s life. As hard as it is sometimes, I think that when a writer tells his personal story, it’s more effective.
Enjoy!

this stuff.

I usually have pretty good self control around sweets this time of year… but if someone puts Peppermint Bark in front of me, I can’t get enough. My aunt makes it the best… but I’m willing to try yours if you’d like me to judge
What sugary treat can you not get enough of this time of year?

Good news. My favorite Nashville cafe has a website… where you can place an order and pick up your meal!!!

I wish I worked closer… maybe I don’t. I bet my wallet is thanking me for the lunchtime distance in advance…

I am outside
And I’ve been waiting for the sun
With my wide eyes
I’ve seen worlds that don’t belong
My mouth is dry with words I cannot verbalize
Tell me why we live like this
Keep me safe inside
Your arms like towers
Tower over me
Yeah
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
Lock the doors
Cause I like to capture this voice
it came to me tonight
So everyone will have a choice
And under red lights
I’ll show myself it wasn’t forged
We’re at war
We live like this
Keep me safe inside
Your arms like towers
Tower over me
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
Tower over me
Tower over me
And I’ll take the truth at any cost
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
I love this song.

Today, I woke up to snow. In Nashville. Clearly, it’s cold.
This weekend, I pulled out the extra down comforter, jersey/flannel sheets, and drank lots of warm beverages (tea, coffee, hot cocoa, etc.)
Palmer even thought it was chilly… hence…

If I hide in this blanket... no one will find me... ha ha ha...
This weekend, however, was wonderful. My roommate, Dinger, and I had a splendid Thanksgiving. On that note, boys, if you like good food… you should meet the one and only Jessica Esch… I promise – you will never have a bad meal. She made the turkey, mashed potatoes, an amazing cranberry/orange/walnut salad, pumpkin pie… She taught me how to make stuffing… and I made sweet potato casserole. We are going to have leftovers for days… but I bet we won’t have to throw anything out
On Friday, I went with the previously mentioned one and only to the mall to work. We got up at 4:30 am, got to the mall at 5:30, and worked until 4 that afternoon. Crazy. Crazy. Crazy.
Saturday with Evan was fun… even if UK did lose. I can’t believe I am about to say this, but UT’s stadium is pretty phenomenal… although… it would be much prettier if it was full of blue, instead of orange. Oh well. I can be happy that Coach Phil had a good last game… only because I am sentimental like that. Next year though… I won’t be full of sympathy and the CATS better kick some tail.
I am so thankful for my good friends! They made a holiday without family still feel like home
Love you all!
