Day 2.

March 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

A few things:

- I am so tired of sugar. In fact, I made cupcakes for our Easter celebration – Strawberry and Red Velvet (not mixed… just two separate choices) – and we had some left over. SO… I brought them to work. They taste good… I had one yesterday… and people have been eating them, but honestly the smell of sugar (cake, cookies, candy… everything of the sort floating around the office) makes me want to gag. Yay vegetables.

- I just turned down a Starbucks invite. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

- I have been encouraged by a few things this weekend/today:

1. Pete’s Message was outstanding and couldn’t have been more appropriate for me. For those of you who were there, you will know what this means… basically… I’m on Day 2, and praying and hoping for Day 3. I know that it will come. KNOWING that Day 3 is coming is bringing me peace, joy, and excitement. For those of you who didn’t hear it on Sunday, go here, and listen… http://www.crosspoint.tv/series/index.html
Believe me… you will be encouraged, no matter where you are.

2. I have been reading a devotional called Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young. I have been praying about some things lately… just asking God to take all of it and make it His. It’s really been a struggle. I am in a time of change… and while I know it’s going to be amazing, it’s extremely uncomfortable right now. Anyway… today, the headline was, “This is a time in your life when you must learn to let go: of loved ones, of possessions, of control…” It’s amazing that I can open a book to begin spending time with God, and the words I NEED to hear are literally plastered on the TOP line of the page.

Sarah Young writes:

You can feel secure, even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of My continual Presence. The One who never leaves you is the same One who never changes: ‘I am the same yesterday, today, and forever.’ As you release more and more things into My care, remember that I never let go of your hand. Herein lies your security, which no one and no circumstance can take from you.

She says it well.

3. I had an amazing Easter. I was able to sing at my Church (Cross Point) and this year will go down as one of the top five most memorable. My community is truly amazing, and I loved every minute of it. I hope every person that walked through the doors this weekend felt as blessed as I did.

I also got to spend my Sunday afternoon with a great group… part of my “Nashville Family.” Every single one of them are blessings… (and good cooks.) I love you all.

4. I am consistently reminded of the talent that surrounds me. Pete, Jenni, Miranda, Jared, Amanda, Matt, the musicians, the volunteers, everyone… I am so blessed by their humility and creativity. I am so thankful for the time they spend in preparation every week.

- This is just me writing random things. But, it snowed today. Snow. Snow?

- Day 3 is right around the corner. I don’t just feel it. I know it.

Happy Monday, Everyone!

Me.
